The Memory of Haakon 9The captain falls to the Sand, mortally wounded, but almost as soon as he ceases to breathe, life begins to be restored to him. With nothing to lose you reach into your pocket and throw the Aquamarine Tear of Sand at his feet (delete this item from your list, remember the -2 to your combat Skill is no longer affecting you thus your COMBAT SKILL is back to its normal value). Instantly the ground around him is turned to quicksand, with him dab in the middle. He awakes to find himself slowly sinking in the mire. Gasping he raises his hand, imploring you for help, but you look coolly on as he sinks into the mire. The wide puddle of Quicksand goes down hundreds of feet, and as he sinks he gets farther and farther from bothering anyone. Encased alive, he has no escape from this trap. As the Tear's effects wear off the quicksand has a complete reversal turning into sandstone, encasing the body of Mosk forever. You feel a rush through your spirit as you realize that Naar's power is being removed from Mosk. The power that kept reanimating has been taken from the captain in his failure. Naar's pride at seeing you able to defeat even as mighty a creature as the captain fills your soul with darkness and restores your ENDURANCE to its initial value (restore all lost ENDURANCE Points). You have defeated Mosk once and for all, yet his words haunt you still. Was this all a useless exercise to see if you were truly fit to be Naar's Champion? Or do the Tombs below hold something, anything that might aid you in the remainder of your quest? |
