In your captivity it seems that Reld has defeated Captain Mosk in a challenge for the captaincy. Slaying the captain over a dispute over what the ship should do when it faced a storm off the Durenese coast, Reld faced off with his superior and won, tossing the body into the ocean.

The former first mate, now captain of the Victor's Spoils, never agreed with the captain's belief of your betrayal so he has decided to free you. As you regain your wits, you gather that the boat has traveled quite a distance and is now only a day's travel from the Lakuri Isles where the boat will stop to resupply itself and rest for a short time.
